STARS Club Activities

Weekly VHF Nets
STARS hosts two nets each week. Our Skywarn net is each Wednesday night at 7:00 CST/CDT. Our weekly STARS information net is on Sunday nights at 7:00 PM CST/CDT. Go to the "STARS Nets" page for more details.
Field Day 2009 2008
Each year STARS participates in the America Radio Relay League's National Field Day event. Amateur Radio operators from around the country simulate emergency operations in fields, forest preserves, and numerous other locations and try to make as many contacts with others across the country as they can.
Illinois Repeater Association
STARS is a member and active participant in the Illinois Repeater Association.
Christmas Party
Every year STARS has a holiday part for its December meeting. An annual radio raffle is held to raise additional funds to support the clubs activities and help support and maintain its repeaters. This is open to all licensed Amateur Radio operators.

Iron Dog Competition
STARS provides communications support using Amateur Radio for the Iron Dog Competition. See this site for details about the competition. It is a serious good time for Dog lovers. This years event is October 9th and 10th.

Basic Weather spotter course on March 5th at Hamfesterrs March Meeting.

Advanced Weather spotter course on March 6th at Wheaton College. Please register early and arrive erarly for good seating.

Annual membership dues are do at the June 2010 meeting. The deadlin is the August meeting, if you want your name to apear in the roster given out in September.
